       Prayer Shawl Ministry

She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. Proverbs 31:13

She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. Proverbs 31:20

Exciting things have been happening with our Prayer Shawl Ministry! In February a couple of "snowbirds" from Wisconsin joined us for a couple of sessions before they flew back north. We were delighted to have them and they apparently enjoyed us. Cathy Tabaka delivered five prayer shawls to us to distribute because "we had been so nice to them"! What a blessing! We had a surplus of shawls in November and now we can't knit them fast enough! For those of you who are wondering, the majority of them are still going to our church families.

In March, six of our stitchers were able to attend the first Prayer Shawl Conference at Geyer Springs Baptist Church. We were encouraged by other groups and fed both physically and spiritually. I think everyone left with the desire to do even better with our lives as we listened to Andrea Lennon from Conway speak. Our hats are off to Melissa Williams for planning the conference and we are all looking forward to next year.

As I mentioned, we can't stitch fast enough so we are praising the Lord for our "home stitchers." Thanks, Ladies! If anyone would like to stitch with us, or maybe learn to stitch, come join us on Friday afternoons. We would love to have you. Also, if you would like to donate used medium-sized gift bags, we could certainly put them to good use. And, of course, we would always appreciate money for postage or yarn!

KALEO FRIENDS

The youth and children at BRBC are our future church generation. What kind of ministry leaders are we producing? Do we take this responsibility seriously enough? We need to take a deeper look. Are we producing this group to become the promising, God dedicated adults that can bring stability, strength and spirituality to our future? Are we teaching them to follow God's commandments? Are we setting good examples for them?

You have an opportunity to mentor one such young person in our church.

We desperately need to come alongside our young people and partner with parents if we are to be a positive influence on our future generation. You have a great legacy to hand down--don't miss the opportunity.

Visitors' Center:

A Visitor Center, located in the foyer, is provided every Sunday morning following the worship service. A volunteer is at the table to greet visitors and give them a packet containing a free gift and valuable information concerning the church.

Library News

There are still many books, videos, DVDs, etc. that have been checked out and have not been returned. Some are just missing, never having
been checked out. If you have any of these at home, please return them so others may enjoy them as you did.
